Real Turkish night @ Taşhan Arkat

Posted on 29 December 2011

A couple of weeks ago we went to a very nice restaurant, Taşhan Arkat, which I can recommend to take your visitors from abroad to. It is a bit touristic, but a real Turkish night is definitively guaranteed!

The ambiance is wonderful: in an historic, 800 years old cistern (old water storage) with candlelight. And the food is rather nice. We had 11 different appetizers and unlimited local alcoholic drinks. We could chose from fish, mixed grill and kebap for a very reasonable price.

There was among others a belly dancer, singer and there were Turkish folklore dancers. After around 23.00 hours the music changed into disco and we danced a lot too.

There is sufficient (paid) parking place next to the restaurant and I liked the overall service very much too. Please visit their website to get an impression of the restaurant!

We paid on average 90 Turkish lira per person.

It is recommendable though to make a reservation beforehand, since it seems always fully booked by travel agencies.
