Yoga & Pilates in Istanbul

Posted on 21 June 2017

Yoga retreat offered by Yoga Cihangir

In a busy city like Istanbul where people are stressed in life, in traffic and in the workplace many people could benefit from yoga, meditation, and pilates.

Cihangir Yoga is one of the locations in Istanbul where lessons are given. It is like an oasis of stillness where you breath, move and exercise with a higher level of intensity. You leave your stress behind and connect to your body in a relaxing way.

There is a wide range of traditional systems of physical exercise and meditation. Choose the one that fits you most.

Many yoga centers offer classes for beginners and for well experienced yogis. Some do offer retreats as well, and teacher training courses.

One of those is Cihangir Yoga. More information on their website

Bikram Yoga

Bikram Method Hatha Yoga is a sequence of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises practiced in a heated room. It is specifically designed to work the entire body, using heat to stretch deeper, prevent injury and flush unwanted toxins. This yoga series stimulates the organs, glands and nerves and systematically moves fresh oxygenated blood to 100% of the body restoring health to all systems. It is an extremely well balanced practice, and in each 90-minute class the practitioner gains physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health benefits. The Bikram series is suitable for all ages and levels of ability.

Be prepared to sweat and have fun!

Well, I agree with what you wrote, but not with all of it. Regardless, it’s all very good material. Thanks!

The title of this post suggests that there will information about Pilates and Yoga classes in Istanbul. However, there is simply a very brief introduction to a few of the yoga offerings in Istanbul. Might I suggest that you either change the title of the post, or add some information on some of the multiple pilates studios in and around Istanbul. Yoga and Pilates, although often lumped together, are not at all the same thing and someone looking for Pilates will not be satisfied with a yoga class (and vice versa!).

What a nice room to practice yoga! Would love to visit Istanbul one day…

  6. Rosalee says:

I love the wordpress theme you are using with this
site. Could I ask which one it is that you will be using?

  7. The information in your post is really wonderful. I really like the information which you have shared.

  8. Everything typed made a ton of sense. However, think about this, what if you were to write a killer post title?
I ain’t saying your content is not solid., however what if you added a
headline to maybe get folk’s attention? I mean Yoga and pilates classes in Istanbul is kinda plain. You
might glance at Yahoo’s home page and watch how they create article headlines to get viewers to open the links.
You might add a video or a related pic or two to get people interested about what
you’ve got to say. Just my opinion, it would bring your posts a little livelier.

  9. It’s really very complicated in this active life to listen news on TV, thus I just use
the web for that reason, and obtain the hottest news.

  10. An interesting discussion is worth comment. I do think that you need to
write more about this subject, it may not be a taboo subject but usually people do not discuss such subjects.
To the next! All the best!!

  11. Marshall says:

If I visit Istanbul one day I will be happy to take one of you classes

  13. Regan says:

Good way of describing, and pleasant article to obtain information concerning my presentation subject, which i
am going to deliver in school.

Wonderful blog! Do you have any tips and hints for aspiring writers?
I’m hoping to start my own blog soon but I’m a little lost on everything.
Would you propose starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for
a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m
completely overwhelmed .. Any ideas? Cheers!
